US Trademark Registration From Pakistan

Filing assistance for Pakistani entrepreneurs, exporters and freelancers.

Pakistan is home to a large IT-export sector, a growing base of Amazon and Shopify sellers, textile and garment manufacturers who ship to U.S. buyers, and a huge community of freelancers on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr who eventually build their own branded products or agencies. Many of these businesses eventually want to protect a name or logo in the U.S. market, even while operating out of cities like Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad.

Common reasons Pakistani businesses file a U.S. trademark

  • Launching a private-label product on Amazon.com and wanting brand-registry style protection
  • Running a Shopify or D2C store that ships to U.S. customers under a specific brand name
  • Exporting garments, leather goods, surgical instruments, sports goods or handicrafts under a house brand
  • Operating a software, IT-services, or digital-marketing agency serving U.S. clients under an agency name
  • Protecting a name before it's copied by a competitor selling into the same U.S. marketplaces

Do you need a U.S. LLC or bank account first?

No. Filing a U.S. trademark application does not require you to first form a U.S. LLC, obtain an EIN, or open a U.S. bank account. Many Pakistani applicants file directly as an individual or as their existing Pakistani company. Whether a U.S. entity makes sense for you is a separate business decision from trademark filing.

As a Pakistan-domiciled applicant, USPTO rules generally require you to be represented by a U.S.-licensed attorney before the USPTO. We are a filing service provider, not that attorney — we prepare your information and coordinate the required attorney representation. See our full foreign-applicant guide.

What information we'll ask for

  • Your proposed trademark (name, logo, or both)
  • Whether you're applying as an individual or as your Pakistani company
  • The goods or services the mark covers (e.g., "leather handbags," "IT consulting services")
  • Whether you're already using the mark in U.S. commerce, or plan to in the future
  • Your Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad or other Pakistan business address

Currency and payment note

Our service fee ($150) and the USPTO government fee ($350 per class) are both quoted in U.S. dollars, since the USPTO fee itself is a USD government fee. We'll confirm accepted payment methods for Pakistan-based customers when you contact us.

Does this protect your brand inside Pakistan too?

No. A U.S. federal trademark only creates rights under U.S. law. If you also want protection in Pakistan, that requires a separate application with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) — this is outside the scope of our U.S. filing service, but we're happy to point you in the right direction.
